have two collections of poetry: Hard Words was a finalist for the
Silverfish Review Press and Sarabande Morton awards (2005), the Utah
State/May Swenson Award (2004), the CSU Poetry Center Award (2001), the
National Poetry Series (1998), and the Walt Whitman Award (1993, 1992);
Mean Numbers was a finalist for the Mississippi Review book prize
(2009) and the Silverfish Review Press Cable Award (2008) and a
semifinalist for the Elixir prize (2007, 2006, 2005) and the Ohio State
Journal award (2007). HONORS
